Monkey 47 is a Dry Gin, which is made in the Black Forest from the water an in-house source and stored in earthenware casks.

Its recipe goes back to the British Montgomery "Monty" Collins, the it as members of the Royal Air Force in 1945 after initially verschlug Berlin, where he was involved in the reconstruction of the Berlin Zoo and the assumed sponsorship for a monkey named Max. After his military service itself Collins settled in the Black Forest and opened the country inn "to wild monkeys".
