This gin is made by the Drouin family from France, which has specialized in Calvados, Normandy apple brandy. "Le Gin de Christian Drouin" is created by flavoring neutral alcohol with distilled apple cider, which in turn is composed of 30 different apple varieties. This is followed by the separate distillation of the following eight botanicals: juniper berry, Brazilian ginger, Madagascan vanilla, lemon, cardamom, Indonesian cinnamon, almonds and roses. With the exception of the gin-typical juniper, all those ingredients can also be found in Calvados.
