As the name implies, the Brewdog Punk IPA is an India Pale Ale. The emergence of IPAs is almost legendary. In order to preserve the beer in the 19th century for the long journey from England and Scotland to the Indian colonies, beer had to be brewed with as much alcohol and hop content as possible, otherwise it would be spoiled during the crossing. Out of this tradition, the Brewdog Punk IPA has emerged.
