After Sebastiaan van Bokkel discovered a bottle of gin in the attic in 2012, he decided to revive the old recipe of his grandfather Bobby with the help of the seventh generation Master Distiller, Herman Jansen. Bobby was born in 1950 in Indonesion, a Dutch colony, and later had to move back to Holland. As he missed the aromas of his old home country, he started to distil gin himself. The Bobby's Schiedam Dry Gin is a tribute to Sebastiaan's grandfather and is produced in an extraordinary distillation process and with exotic botanicals. Each botanical, including lemongrass, rose hip, juniper, pepper and cloves, is distilled separately and the distilled products are then mixed in a special process. The bottle represents a traditional Jenever jug and is printed with the typical Indonesian ikat pattern.
